The five pillars of Islam are just like 5 pillars of concrete holding up a roof. If one of the pillars are damaged then the roof will fall down. Similarly the 5 pillars in Islam are likewise. If one of the following 5 pillars are not performed to its basic needs, then your practicing Islam will be weak. Just like the roof would be weak if one of the 5 pillars holding it up were not constructed properly.
